• Firenze Rocks 2020: Accessible Tourism will manage accessibility of the Visarno Arena

    With the announcement of the Green Day, Weezer and Red Hot Chili Peppers concert, which will be held from 11 to 14 June 2020 at the Visarno Arena in Florence , the countdown to Firenze Rocks 2020 has officially begun.

    Also in this next edition Accessible Tourism, a sector of The Plus Planet that deals with accessibility and accessible tourism, will collaborate with Le Nozze di Figaro and Live Nation to make the Florentine Rock festival accessible to all in the splendid setting of the Visarno Arena.

    As happened in the two previous editions, in fact, we will manage the reception of people with disabilities both before and during and after the concerts.

    Transfers with equipped vehicles, rental of aids and electric scooters to visit the city and / or reach concerts

  • Accessible Tourism 1st italian Tour Operator at Rehab Karlsruhe 2019

    It was an important international debut for Accessible Tourism, the Plus Planet division dedicated to accessible tourism in Italy.

    After taking part in ITBerlin 2019 in March, Accessible Tourism was the first Italian Tour Operator dedicated to accessible tourism to participate in Rehab Karlsruhe, the international fair for rehabilitation, care, technological innovation and leisure, which was held from 16 to May 18 in the city of Karlsruhe, Germany.

    The event, now in its 20th edition, saw the participation of over 460 operators from 21 countries around the world who presented the main innovations in the field of rehabilitation and orthopedic therapies. An event set up in an area of ​​over 49,000 square meters where all the latest industry news have found place, as well as meetings, workshops and demonstrations of sports associations.

    For the first time also accessible Italy was present at this important event with Accessible Tourism: the T.O. of The Plus Planet that participated in the German three-day event with its own stand, in which was offered the 2019 catalog dedicated to accessible tourism in Italy.

    From accommodation facilities, transfer services, nursing assistance, up to travel packages and guided tours: numerous services were showed by Accessible Tourism and addressed to all types of disabilities. There is also an offer dedicated to silver tourism, a type rising tourism. The Italian offer was much appreciated by the public of the fair that crowded the stand and asked for information and contacts.

  • Firenze Rocks 2019: 500 persons were received in the Visarno Arena’s accessible area

    About 500 persons with disabilities were hosted in the Visarno Arena private area during 4 days of Firenze Rocks 2019.

    Accessible Tourism – the division of The Plus Planet that is the co-operative member of the consortium CO&SO and organize accessible travels in collaboration with Le Nozze di Figaro and Live Nation – managed the hospitality service.

    Most of the guests came from Italy, but there were also arrivals from USA, UK and Germany. About 8 persons every night took care of these people and their needs.

    The accessible area offered reserved bathrooms and it was located near a relax zone, where disabled people and pregnant women could have a refreshment before getting on the platform; the area had also a mobile phone’s charger point.

    In addition to the hospitality service, Accessible Tourism run also the front office for everyone who have accessibility’s problems.
    About 500 persons called and wrote to the Firenze Rocks 2019 contact persons to ask every kind of information: they asked for reservation in accessible hotels, transfer and support equipments, general information about how to reach the Visarno Arena. They also send requested about the city of Florence, accessible museums and restaurants.

  • Fam Trip 2019 visita Museo Opera del duomo

    Fam Trip 2019: 7 international tour operators discovered accessible Tuscany

    A trip made to discover the accessible Tuscany, from Florence to Maremma, has involved 7 international tour operators: it’s the Fam (Familiarization) Trip organized from the 11th to the 14th of April by Accessible Tourism.

    Since 2015 Accessible Tourism is specialized in incoming accessible travels involving people with physical, sensorial and intellectual-relational disabilities.

    Every spring it organizes a private trip for the main international tour operators involved in accessible tourism, in order to let them discovering accessible hotels and services in Italy.
    This year they decided to invite 7 tour operators coming from Germany (Accamino Reisen, BSK Reisen and Runa Reisen), India (Cox & Kings – Enabletravel), United Kingdoms (Enable Holidays), Argentina (Soles Viajes) and Denmark (Sustravel).

    The Fam Trip 2019 starts from the city of Florence, where they visit some hotels, restaurants and made a particular touchable tour in “Opera del Duomo” Museum.
    Afterward the group went along the tuscany coast, they visited camping and some typical places as Rocchette, Follonica and the famous Petra winery in Val di Cornia.
    Pisa was the third destination, with the stunning Piazza dei Miracoli.

    At the end, they came back to Florence visiting Piazzale Michelangelo, where they had the pleasure to meet the Florence’s mayor, Dario Nardella and the Sport Councilor, Andrea Vannucci, in occasion of the event “Gran Fondo di Ciclismo”.
